SUPERBOWL CHAMPS
12.27.2011 | by: Luksch

Congratulations to Owner Dylan Randall and his team “Bringing Sexy Back” for winning Superbowl VIII 149 to 130.5 over team “Boom You’re Pregnant”. This is the franchise’s 2nd Superbowl title (Superbowl I…being the other). Superbowl MVP Aaron Rodgers led the way scoring 42 pts. This win marks the 6th title for the NFC, which continues to show their dominance over the AFC.

Superbowl VIII
12.23.2011 | by: Luksch

Superbowl VIII features a rematch of the inaugural Superbowl. Both teams are coming off very close wins in their conference title games. Team “Boom You’re Pregnant” won the only meeting of the season between these teams and did it very convincingly. Both teams can put up points with both finishing 1 and 2 in pts scored this season. I feel “Bringing Sexy Back” is more consistent. However, Team “BYP” has the potential to break records in any giving week. With that said, it will come down to QB play like it almost always does. If Staffordcan keep up with Rodgers….then BYP will hoist the Superbowl Trophy….but if he struggles and Rodgers goes off….then it will be “Bringing Sexy Back” who wins their 2nd Superbowl. In the end….I’m going with Team “Boom You’re Pregnant” Injuries and poor matches will keep it close enough for the upset.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP
12.14.2011 | by: Luksch

The NFC wildcard game features two teams again lead by elite QB’s. The “Sex Panthers” lead by Tom Brady and “Bringing Sexy Back” with Buffalo Fantasy MVP Aaron Rodgers. The “Sex Panthers” are coming in winning a close battle over rival the “A-Team” in the Wildcard round. As for the “Bringing Sexy Back” they haven’t played a meaningful game in over a month. The “Sex Panthers" will need every point possible to pull off the upset. I just don’t see it. I got “Bringing Sexy Back” rolling to Superbowl VIII.

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP
12.14.2011 | by: Luksch

The AFC Championship game features the two teams in the Conference with 2 Conference titles each (most in the AFC). Doublebull (06 and 09) and BYP (04 and 05). Therefore…the winner will make their 3rd trip to the Superbowl…most in buffalo fantasy history. Team "Doublebull" is coming in winning their 2nd division title in 3 years. While BYP is coming in winning convincingly in the Wildcard round. "Doublebull" is that team that wins the division title and makes the playoffs….but didn’t really play anyone good all year. I have a feeling this won't even be close…especially with Rivers playing the Ravens defense. BYP has more points, more talent and most importantly better matchups! I predict BYP in a blowout! (Watch the starting WR position….if tied….that is the tie breaker!...HAHA)

NFC Wildcard Preview: A-Team vs Sex Panthers
12.07.2011 | by: Luksch

The NFC wildcard game features two teams lead by elite QB’s. The “Sex Panthers” are in the playoffs for the third straight year. However, they are lucky to be in the playoffs at all. They are riding a 4 game losing streak which includes a loss last week to the “A-Team”. Not to mention without the “cheating” scandal that shocked the fantasy world the “Sex Panthers” wouldn’t even qualified for the playoffs. As for the “A-Team” they are back in the playoffs after missing them just one year ago. The “A-Team” has made the playoffs 7 times; tied for most appearances with “Vick in a Box” in Buffalo Fantasy history. They are coming in winning 2 big games in a row with one of them being the greatest comeback in Buffalo Fantasy history. The key to the game will be the QB play. Both of them are elite and if one slips up…it is probably over for that team. I predict Team “Sex Panthers” will win a close one. Tom Brady is too good and this is right around the time of the year the "A-Team" chokes.

AFC Wildcard Preview: Vick in a Box vs Boom You're Pregnant
12.07.2011 | by: Luksch

The AFC wildcard game features two teams headed in entirely two different directions. “Vick in a Box” has lost 4 in a row, while Team “Boom You’re Pregnant has peeled off 3 straight wins. Team “Vick in a Box” are making their 5th straight playoff appearance. Injuries to key players have really hurt this team down the stretch. Team “Boom You’re Pregnant” have ended their ½ a decade drought from the playoffs. Their last appearance was back in 2005 when they lost in Superbowl II. I’m feeling an upset here, if you can call it that. If Vick and McFadden play….maybe Team “Vick in a Box”  has a shot. The Adrian Peterson injury is also one to keep an eye on!

Players to Watch:

Player of the Week (13)
12.07.2011 | by: Luksch

QB: Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers continued his MVP like season with another outstanding performance in the final week of the season. Rodgers scored 38 points for Team “Bringing Sexy Back”. However, that wasn’t enough to over take team “Who Dat”. Between Stafford, Brady and now Rodgers....god thay have fuckin hot women!

Game of the Week (13)
12.01.2011 | by: Luksch

Ok…this game will either be meaningless or huge. Injuries will play a major role in this game and so will the QB play. The “cheater” scandal will also have some impact on this game as well. Could also be a preview of next week’s wild card game.

Players to Watch:

A-Team

QB: Drew Brees

Sex Panthers

QB: Tom Brady

Player of the Week (12)
11.30.2011 | by: Luksch

QB: Drew Brees

DREW BREEEEEEES of the “A-Team” lead the greatest comeback in sports history with his 44 pt performance over team "Whoooo" 132 to 130.5....YES....the comback was bigger then Medina over Lackawanna....bigger then the Bills over Oilers. He threw for 363 yards and 4 TD’s....while also rushing for 1 TD as well. (it's unfortunate the headline of the week is Team "whooo" is owned by a cheater).

Game of the Week (12)
11.24.2011 | by: Luksch

Well my shitty team is down to its last chance to make the playoffs……The “A-Team” must win this week or they are done! If Team “Wooooo” loses…then they will lose the tie breaker against the A-Team and will need help in the final week of the regular season to get in!

Matt Stafford ripped off 37 points to help Team “Boom! You’re Pregnant” defeat team “Vick in a Box” 160 to 122.5. After the game Matt had alittle party! Well done Matt!!!

Game of the Week (11)

Since the holidays are on weekends this year, plans for the Superbowl/ProBowl party are a little hard to figure out. If you have any ideas, post them on the rumor mill.

Game of the Week (10)
11.11.2011 | by: Luksch

This week’s game features two wanna be powerhouses in the AFC.  Team “Doublebull” (7-2) who has the easiest schedule in Buffalo Fantasy history!!! 10 games against the weak ass AFC and 3 against the bottom teams in the NFC (Stowe 1-8, Zeitz 2-7 and Gullo 5-4). WHAT A JOKE!!! Then...you got Team “Dick in a Box” with the exact same easy ass schedule!!!! Are you kidding me????…Funny how you both beat the 2 weakest NFC teams….but couldn’t get passed Gullo who is in 4th place in the NFC….Conclusion….NONE OF YOU MOTHER FUCKERS IN THE AFC especially you two loud mouths at the top wouldn't be better than 5th place in the NFC!!!…YOU ALL SUCK and I’m sick of you thinking you are any good!

Draft Redo 2011
11.06.2011 | by: Luksch

Buffalo Fantasy Draft 2011 Redo

Round 1

  1. Strusienski – Drafted: RB Arian Foster (Grade A)
    1. Should have drafted QB Cam Newton = no one in their right mind would have made this pick. A rookie QB with major question marks. But fast forward and this would have been the pick. Foster is a solid pick. But Cam is a young stud that scores a bunch of TD’s and throws for a ton of yards. A franchise QB!

  1. Pickreign – Drafted: WR Ray Rice (Grade A)
    1. Should have drafted QB Matt Stafford = this was a tough choice. But Stafford is franchise QB and he needs to be the pick here. Welker is putting up monster numbers and the team already has Eli. But trade Eli for a need on the roster. Don’t need to take a RB here because you have Peterson. Although…Rice is solid. Ended up getting Stafford later on in rd 4 anyways….So Pick good drafting!

  1. Randall – Drafted: WR Andre Johnson (Grade A+)
    1. Should have drafted WR Wes Welker = would have Johnson ahead of Welker…but Johnson can’t stay healthy for a full 16 games. May have thought about Jimmy Graham here too…. But Welker is too good to pass up! Great pick in the 2nd Dylan!

  1. Luksch – Drafted: RB Jamaal Charles (Grade Incomplete)
    1. Should have drafted WR Andre Johnson = Jamaal Charles could be a fine pick…but the ACL gives him an incomplete grade. Johnson is a Stud and would have been the pick here.

  1. Teichman – Drafted: RB Rashard Mendenhall (Grade B)
    1. Should have drafted RB Arian Foster = some risk with this pick, but so far he has delivered. Mendenhall is having an off year. Injuries, poor OL and a new offensive philosophy have hurt Mendenhall this year.

  1. Stowe – Drafted: WR Roddy White (Grade A)
    1. Should have drafted RB Ray Rice = to much value here to pass up. A top RB falling to the 6th pick would have been too good to be true. Roddy White was a good pick, unfortunately White and his two year contract was traded to Team Woooo!

  1. Zeitz – Drafted: RB Maurice Jones- Drew (Grade A)
    1. Should have drafted TE Jimmy Graham = Makes a lot of sense….has a QB, RB, and WR already on the roster at 7.5 million each. Now you add the Saints stud TE. He might have also looked at Sproles here. Jones-Drew was the safe pick. He passed on a few guys having better years though!

  1. Gigante – Drafted: WR Vincent Jackson (Grade A-)
    1. Should have taken WR Steve Smith (Car) = this is where the next 5-10 players are pretty much even. The fact Gigante was able to get this guy in the 6th rd makes Gigante one of the front runners for the best draft class of 2011. A- is because he could of had Welker!

  1. Pellegrino – Drafted: WR Dwayne Bowe (Grade A-)
    1. Should have taken WR Roddy White = Roddy White is the next best available WR. Bowe was a safe pick…..got the A- because he took Bowe over Welker, Jackson and Nicks.

  1. Hannigan – Drafted: WR Hakeem Nicks (Grade A)
    1. Should have taken WR Hakeem Nicks = When healthy an absolute stud! Might have looked at Sproles or even Fred Jackson.

  1. Johnson – Drafted: WR DeSean Jackson (Grade A)
    1. Should have taken WR DeSean Jackson = Again, could have gone with a few different guys here….Jackson is the best WR on the board.

  1. Stowe (f/Gullo) – Drafted: TE Dallas Clark (Grade F)
    1. Should have taken QB Matt Ryan = Needed a QB and the pick should have been a QB. He passed on Ryan, Stafford, Newton and Fitz and then panicked when all the top QB’s where gone. Thus, ruining his season because of it! Clark…ugh

Round 2

  1. StrusienskiRB F. Jackson “The guy is scoring so many pts and his a BILL!”
  2. PickreignWR V. Jackson  “Nice value in the 2nd rd ”
  3. Randall TE R. Gronkowski “One of the top TE’s and a major need”
  4. Luksch RB D. Sproles “Took the wrong Saints RB”
  5. Teichman RB M. Jones-Drew “Awesome value pick”
  6. Gullo (f/Stowe)RB A. Bradshaw “Nice run on RB’s…3rd rd get Fitz”
  7. ZeitzRB R. Mendenhall “Going threw a rough patch…but should be ok”
  8. Gigante  RB J. Charles “Top 5 talent, ACL injury?, can’t pass on his former stud”
  9. Pellegrino  RB L. Blount “Off to a slow start…but should be fine as well”
  10. Hannigan  RB B. Wells “If he can stay healthy…great value”
  11. JohnsonWR AJ. Green “Crazy upside”
  12. StoweWR D. Bowe “Best available…maybe Garcon”

BF Fantasy Fun Fact: Week 7
10.25.2011 | by: Mark

The recent play of Team OOOOORAH has led me down a path of looking up stats from the other end of the fantasy spectrum, the futile and misguided.  Team OOOORAH put up 51.5 points in Week 7 and it was surprisingly only the 11th lowest total in BF history.  Here is the breakdown of other weekly duds:

YEAR WEEK OWNER SCORE OPPONENT RESULT
2004 8 Gigante 31 Randall L 31-95
2004 11 Gigante 34 P. Johnson L 34-73

BF Fantasy Fun Fact: Week 6
10.22.2011 | by: Mark
I cannot easily go through the archives on this one, but I can almost guarantee that in week 6 we had a first. The matchup between the 'A-Team' and 'Team THIS Year' had both owners starting 2 players from the same pro team at the same position. Luksch started Ryan Torain and Tim Hightower both RBs from Washington against Strusienski's Buffalo WRs Steve Johnson and David Nelson. 'Team THIS Year' got more points from their pair and won the matchup. (Strus would have had more points if Ryan Fitzpatrick could throw the ball on target when Johnson has his man beat, sigh).

Player of the Week (6)
10.19.2011 | by: Luksch

RB: Ahmad Bradshaw

Bradshaw helped Team “Doublebull” defeat "Who Dat" 142-109.5. Bradshaw ran for 104 yards and 3 TD’s while also catching 2 passes for 26 yards.

Game of the Week (5b)
10.11.2011 | by: Luksch

The second game features a team of Doublebull who’s (4-1) record is a tad misleading. Two of their wins came in the form of tiebreakers.  The team is very fortunate to be (4-1) and not (2-3). Where as, Team “Who Dat” who is (2-3) has managed to survive a brutal NFC schedule. This team will have to win these inter-league games if they have any shot at making the playoffs this year!

The "Sex Panthers" have been putting up some serious points and will look to keep it going this week against a much improved "Boom…You’re Pregnant" team. A match really neither team can afford to lose.

Game of the Week (4)
10.01.2011 | by: Luksch

Two (0-3) teams that are (lets be honest) probably out of it already and this is their only shot at being named the game of the week!

Players to Watch:

Team WTF is going on?

TE: Jimmy Graham

Browns over Jills

QB: Rapistberger

Player of the Week (3)
09.29.2011 | by: Luksch

WR: Wes Welker

Wes Welker dominated on Sunday with an impressive 42 pts to help Team “BMFJ did it…NOT ME” defeat Team “Who Dat” 164 to 126. Welker had 16 catches for 217 yards and 2 TD’s. Welker is making an early case for the Andre Reed Award!

Game of the Week (3)
09.24.2011 | by: Luksch

Two (0-2) teams who desperately need a win….but unfortunately for one of these teams….they will drop to (0-3) and enter themselves in the “Suck for Luck” Sweepstacks!

Players to Watch:

Sex Panthers

QB: Tom Brady

Oooooraah

TE: Scott Chandler

Player of the Week (2)
09.20.2011 | by: Luksch

DB: Charles Woodson

Charles Woodson was the difference in a very close battle between two NFC heavy weights. Woodson scored 18 big points to help Team “Wooooo” defeat Team “Sex Panthers” 146.5 to 143. Woodson had 2 INT’s to go along with 5 solo tackles and a fumble recover.

BF Fantasy Fun Fact: Week 2
09.20.2011 | by: Mark

Here is a fun fact.... Eric is sabotaging my season!

For the second straight week Team Hannigan scored the second highest weekly total within the division, only to play the team that scored the highest.

While considering only regular season divisional games, this has happened 28 times in BF-H2H history.  This year is the only time it has happened to the same person in consecutive weeks.

Here is the complete number of occurrences where teams got screwed by the schedule (aka Zeitz):

Hannigan 6 NFC
P. Johnson 3 AFC
Pellegrino 3 AFC
Gigante 2 AFC
Luksch 2 NFC
Pickreign 2 AFC
Randall 2 NFC
Teichman 2 AFC
Zeitz 2 NFC
Gullo 1 NFC
Stowe 1 NFC
Strusienski 1 AFC
Weber 1 AFC

Let my pity party continue....

I have a couple other fun facts lined up, but if there is anything you would like me to look up, I will see what I can do.  As always, I will try to keep it relevant to the current week.

See you next week.

Game of Week (2)
09.17.2011 | by: Luksch

Surprisingly this is the only match-up that features two (1-0) teams. "Team Boom! You’re Pregnant!"  and "Team THIS Year" are usually fighting it out for the #1 draft pick…NOT the Division lead. But this is a new year and one of these teams will be 2-0 and off to a pretty good start in AFC.

Players to Watch:

Team THIS Year

RB: Chris Johnson

Boom You’re Pregnant

RB: Adrian Peterson

Best Draft Day Steals Ever! (per RD)
09.13.2011 | by: Luksch

Was hoping to get this out last week!

Rd 1: (Pick 12) P.Manning (2004) – Chad Stowe wasn’t laughing when he found himself picking last at our inaugural draft. However, he did get the last laugh when he went on to win Superbowl II and Manning won MVP. Over a seven-year period Manning has gone on to win 4 Superbowls, 2 League MVP’s and has won the Jim Kelly Award as the top QB twice.

Rd 2: (Pick 7) R.Moss (2007) – In 2006 Moss was coming off his worse season ever. Many people thought he was done. One person who didn’t; Steven Luksch. He moved up 4 spots in the 2nd round to assure Moss would be on his team. The gamble paid off. Moss put up record setting numbers that year and went on to win the Andre Reed Award in 2007.

Rd 3: (Pick 6) T. Brady (2004) – It’s hard to believe 10 QB’s where drafted ahead of Tom Brady in 2004. Brady has spent his whole career with Team Hannigan and has won 1 Superbowl, 1 MVP and won the Jim Kelly award all in 2007.

Rd 4: (Pick 12) F.Gore (2006) – This was probably the toughest to judge, Westbrook (2006; pick 12) by Gullo and Rodgers (2008; pick 8) by Randall got some considerations, but Gore has lasted longer then Westbrook and Rodgers is only in the conversation based on his potential. Gore has gone on to be a 1st RD pick and Franchise player every year since he was drafted back in 2006 by Stowe!

Rd 5: (Pick 5) C.Benson (2009) – This one of the weaker rounds in draft history mostly because defensive players are the most commonly drafted position in this round. Benson has gradually gotten better each year and seems to always get signed to 2-year deals. In 2009 he was drafted by Mike Gullo and turned out to be a steal.

Rd 6: Chris Johnson “Luksch”(2008), Tiki Barber “Pickriegn”(2004)

Rd 7: Larry Johnson “Zeitz” (2005)

Rd 8: Larry Fitzgerald “Luksch (2004), Andre Johnson “Zeitz” (2004)

Rd 9: A.Boldin “Stowe” (2004)

Rd 10-15: A.Gates “Pickreign” (2004 15th rd), D.Brees (Teichman” (2006 12th rd)

Rd 16-20: De.Williams “Luksch (2008 16th rd), M.Jones-Drew “Gigante” (2006 17th rd)

***Rds 8 thur 12 are keeper rounds and most drafts saw little or no selections.

Player of the Week (1)
09.13.2011 | by: Luksch

QB: Tom Brady

With so many players having big weeks and most fantasy games being blow outs. I’m forced to give it to Tom “F*ck You…but your wife is hot” Brady. Brady scored 41 pts in a losing effort. Brady threw for 517 and 4 TD’s while his team lost to team Randall 172-146.

Buffalo Fantasy Fun Fact: Week 1
09.13.2011 | by: Mark

A lot of high scores in Week 1 this year and it proved to be the highest combined score in week 1 of any year.

Year Points
2011 723
2010 719
2007 642

In addition, the game between Randall and Hannigan ended up tying the highest combined game score in BF history.  Weirdly enough it tied last years week 1 game between Zeitz and Hannigan with the exact same score.  So basically....... fuck me.

Year Week Teams Score Total
2010 1 Zeitz over Hannigan 172-146 318
2011 1 Randall over Hannigan 172-146 318
2010 10 Pellegrino over P. Johnson 162-150 312
2007 7 Hannigan over Pellegrino 173-138 311
2010 3 Randall over Hannigan 163-136 299
2007 14 Hannigan over Randall 170-126 296
2011 1 P. Johnson over Gigante 153-140 293

I extended the list to the top 7 becuase P. Johnson's victory over Gigante proved to be another high scoring game in BF History.

Buffalo Fantasy Draft Recap
09.08.2011 | by: Luksch

AFC Conference

Vito:

Strengths – Overall depth and balance at key positions. Arguable a stud at (QB) Rivers, (RB) Best and Bradshaw, (WR) V-Jack and (TE) J.Finley
Weakness - If there is one weakness. It's WR. V-Jackson is solid. But everyone else has questions. AJ Green and Steve Smith are great talents….but both have rookie QB's, Which Sims-Walker will show up in STL? All kinds of questions surrounding Roy Williams in CHI.
Best Pick: RB A.Bradshaw 2nd rd
Worst Pick: WR AJ Green 3rd rd (Going to be Great…but not w/ a rookie QB)

Strus:

Strengths- Foster and Johnson arguable the top RB Combo in the league!
Weakness- No superstar QB…going to find out the hard way…no stud QB = no playoffs or cash prizes!
Best Pick: RB A. Foster 1st rd
Worst Pick: QB J. Flacco 2nd rd (Not horrible..but should've taken Matt Ryan)

Nick:

Strengths- QB's…Romo can be elite if healthy and Matt Ryan was a steal in the 2nd rd
Weakness- TE, Jimmy Graham is unproven and no other TE on the roster if he fails.
Best Pick: Matt Ryan 2nd
Worst Pick: Trading S. Jackson for F. Jones and a 4th (WR S.Moss)?

Pick:

Strengths- AP and R.Rice dynamic duo.
Weakness- TE….Gonzo is old and Lewis is in a bad situation.
Best Pick: RB R.Rice 1st rd
Worst Pick: TE T.Gonzalez 12th

Dan:

Strengths- WR's…no Studs after M.Austin…but a ton of depth. Manningham and Holmes are solid and Nelson and Little are sleepers.
Weakness- TE…I like the pick of Winslow…but with his knee history, would have taken a proven backup. Moore is a very risky unknown.
Best Pick: RB L.Blount 2nd rd
Worst Pick: TE E.Moore 18th rd

Paul:

Strengths- Vick!
Weakness- RB…can McFadden stay healthy for another good yr, the law firm has about 5 other RB's to worry about in NE, Moreno hasn't lived up to expectations.
Best Pick: TE Jared Cook 18th rd
Worst Pick: RB M. Leshoure 15th rd (would've been a steal…if he wasn't on the IR)!!

NFC Conference

Chad:
Strengths - Depth at most positions!
Weakness - A team filled w/ ???????…(1) can Freeman or Kolb be elite? (2) Will S.Green finally break-out (3) Can Lloyd repeat what he did last yr? (4) Can Clark produce w/ out Manning? (5) Does Driver, Branch or McGahee have another solid season left in them?
Best Pick: Trade for S. Jackson
Worst Pick: (1) Trading of McCoy and (2) how the picks were used!!!

  • REVIEW Gave up McCoy and a better 2nd for D.Clark, S.Green and E.Dumervil
    • Scenario (1) – Make the trade but draft Ryan instead of Clark; (RD1a) R.White (RD1b) M. Ryan (RD2) S.Green
    • Scenario (2) – Keep McCoy and draft; (RD1)R.White (RD2) M.Ryan….you could of had them both without trading anything to Gullo….and kept McCoy in the process!
Basically you choose S.Green and D.Clark over M.Ryan and L.McCoy…..not a good trade off!

Dylan:

Strengths- WR's, A.Johnson, Welker, Boldin and Colston are all top 20 WR's
Weakness- RB,  B.Wells should be fine…but Matthews, McCluster and Sproles all split carries!
Best Pick: WR A.Johnson 1st rd
Worst Pick: RB D.Sproles 12th rd

Gullo:

Strengths- McCoy and Hillis could be a nasty combo!
Weakness- QB… Manning??? How much time will he miss? 1 week? 4 weeks? 8 weeks? Fitz is ok….but not elite.
Best Pick: Trade for McCoy
Worst Pick: K. G.Hartley 16th….but worst was tagging Manning!

Steve:

Strengths- RB's, 7 RB's on rosters…future and present covered!
Weakness- WR….only Dez Bryant on roster…serious problems there
Best Pick: RB Jamaal Charles 1st rd
Worst Pick: RB D. Thomas 5th rd

Mark:

Strengths- Top guys at key spots QB Brady, WR's Nicks, Marshall and Wallace and TE Gates.
Weakness- RB's…no elite stud!
Best Pick: RB P.Thomas 18th rd
Worst Pick: TE A. Hernandez 14th

Eric:

Strengths- WR's….Fitzgerald, Wayne, Britt and Harvin could all be top 20 WR's!!
Weakness- TE….Kendricks and Olsen are sleepers…but both are unproven.
Best Pick: WR K.Britt 4th
Worst Pick: DB M.Griffin 11th rd

Team Gullo Repeats as Superbowl Champs!!
12.31.2010 | by: Luksch
Team Gullo made history by defeating Team Johnson 111 to 91 in SuperBowl VII. Team Gullo became the first franchise to win two titles and to win them in back to back years! We saw Peyton Manning win the Superbowl MVP award while also winning his 4th Superbowl Championship! Congratulations to Team Gullo and to everyone who played this season!!!.....see you at the draft.....Strus you are on the CLOCK.....again!!

SUPERBOWL VII
12.22.2010 | by: Luksch

This year’s Superbowl will see Team Gullo defend his title against Team Johnson. Team Gullo escaped with the win last week in the NFC title game. While Team Johnson continued their dominance upsetting both the #1 and # 2 seeds in the AFC to reach their 2nd Superbowl in franchise history. Both Teams rely heavily on their QB.

Both Vick and Manning have been on fire. The game will come down to the healthiest RB’s and the game changing defensive players. Will team Gullo be the first franchise to win back to back Superbowls or will Team Johnson be the 7th different franchise to win the title?!

AFC Playoff Preview
12.08.2010 | by: Luksch

1) Team Pellegrino

Playoff History:
-  3rd playoff appearance (2006, 2008, 2010)
-  Division Titles (2008, 2010)
-  Superbowl Champ (2008)
-  All-time Playoff Record 2-1

Team Pellegrino earned his 2nd division title. They have done it with outstanding play from their skill positions. The RB’s and WR’s have played great! However, some people are going to look at the pts against and say “Come On…Really??? 1272 pts against that’s it??? I know one owner in the NFC that has won 3 division titles and never was there less then 1400 pts scored on him”. It’s hard to believe that the remaining playoff teams won’t put at least 115 or 120 per game! The key for Team Pellegrino will be QB….They have struggled to find the guy this year….It’s funny...last year they had that guy….but he was traded….and that one missing link may cost them a shot at another Superbowl title!

Key Players:

Dwayne Bowe
WR: Dwayne Bowe

Steven Jackson
RB: Steven Jackson

(2) Team Gigante

Playoff History:
-  5th playoff appearance (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010)
-  1 Division titles (2009)
-  Superbowl Champ (2006)
-  All-time Playoff Record 6-3

Team Gigante at times looks unbeatable scoring 140 to 150pts a win! And then at times they look like garbage!! Usually when they look unbeatable their QB Philip Rivers is putting up 20 or 30pts. But when he and the team aren’t lighting up the scoreboard they struggle bad….The team only scored 120 or more pts five times. To win it all….every game better be over 120! Team Gigante like every other team in the AFC needs to be more consist if they want to win it all!

Key Players:

Philip Rivers
QB: Philip Rivers

Terrell Owens
 WR: Terrell Owens

(3) Team Johnson

Playoff History:
-  6th playoff appearance (2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010)
-  1 Division titles
-  No Superbowl Champions
-  All-time Playoff Record 4-6

Team Johnson is the scary team in the AFC….they are getting healthy and they have the talent to win it all. They have all the pieces in place….they just need them all to be hot at the same time. If this team plays to their max potential….it will be hard to beat them! Team Johnson it the typical come out of no where team….to win it all! Just like Gigante (06), Hannigan (07), and Gullo (09)!

Key Players:

Michael Vick
QB: Mike Vick

Calvin Johnson
WR: Calvin Johnson

NFC Playoff Preview
12.07.2010 | by: Luksch
(1) Team Gullo

Playoff History:
-  2nd playoff appearance (2009, 2010)
-  Division Titles (2010)
-  Superbowl Champ (2009)
-  All-time Playoff Record 3-0

Team Gullo earned their 1st division title and a bye in the wildcard round. Since going 4-0 to start the season, Team Gullo has gone 5-4 and 2 of those wins came against the last place teams of Team Strus by 5pts and Team Randall by 3pts. Team Gullo will need Peyton Manning to get hot and stay hot for the next 3 weeks if they want to win back to back titles.

Key Players:

Peyton Manning
QB: Peyton Manning

RB: Arian Foster

(2) Team Hannigan

Playoff History:
-  3rd playoff appearance (2007, 2009, 2010)
-  No Division titles
-  Superbowl Champ (2007)
-  All-time Playoff Record 3-1

Team Hannigan is the hottest team in the NFC. They have won 4 out of their last 5 and doing it w/out the best TE in football Antonio Gates. With Gates finally healthy and Brady playing out of his mind, look for Team Hannigan to make a serious run at the Title!

Key Players:

QB: Tom Brady

Antonio Gates
TE: Antonio Gates

(3) Team Zeitz

Playoff History:
-  4th playoff appearance (2005, 2006, 2008, 2010)
-  No Division titles
-  No Superbowl Champions
-  All-time Playoff Record 4-3

Team Zeitz limped into the playoffs. With key guys like Gore, Nicks and Torain out with injuries it will be hard for them to score pts. The Team will need guys like Schaub, Fitzgerald, and White to have monster games over these 3 weeks if they want any shot at a title!

Key Players:

Matt Schaub
QB: Matt Schaub

Roddy White
WR: Roddy White

Dwayne Bowe
WR: Dwayne Bowe

Dwayne scored 41 pts to help Team Pellegrino defeat Team Strusienski 135 to 71. Bowe caught 13 passes for 170 yards and 3 TD’s. Bowe is making a case he should win the Andre Reed Award!

Player of the Week (11)
11.30.2010 | by: Luksch

Ben Roethlisberger
QB: Ben Roethlisberger

Team Puppet Master Press Conference
11.21.2010 | by: Luksch
First, I want to start by apologizing to the fans of Team “Puppet Master”. The fans deserve a winning and respectable team that competes for a Championship each and every year. Unfortunately, this year the fans did not have a lot to cheer about and I’m truly sorry.

Second, I want to say I’m sorry to my players. I take full and total responsibility for the lack of success we had this season. I let my 2010 record breaking varsity soccer season get in the way of what really matters….FANTASY FOOTBALL…..I was flat out selfish…..I wasn’t thinking of my fantasy players when I was scouting other soccer teams, running extra practices and game planning for opponents. It was wrong to put soccer first….And honestly, I would give back the amazing sectional run that saw Medina go to the finals for the first time in school history, the 2nd consecutive “Coach of the Year” award (this year I was co-coach of the year), I would give back the school record 13 victories, school record for shutouts, best winning % in school history…..well you get the picture we had a good year. I would give it all back for a Fantasy Football Superbowl title!!! I didn’t spend enough time on the waiver wire, making trades, researching players and intimidating opponents with my trash talking in the rumor mills. All the things that make me great and the best fantasy owner in the universe!

So, I promise…just like I turned around the 0-18 mustangs to elite status…I will turn the Puppet Masters around…We will NOT suck… year in and year out like Team Pickreign (BTW congrats on the Baby Girl) or Team Strus (BTW congrats on Wedding). We will capitalize on the 2nd overall pick…just like in 2004 when I drafted LT in the same spot! We will dominate again…I guarantee it!

RB: Adrian Peterson

Player of the Week (10)
11.17.2010 | by: Luksch
Michael Vick
QB: Michael Vick
WOW….Michael Vick scored a record breaking 57 pts for Team Johnson. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to get the victory over Team Pellegrino. Vick threw for 333 yards and 4 TD’s while also rushing for 80 yards and 2 more TD’s. The 162 to 150 loss dropped Team Johnson to 5-5 and help Team Pellegrino improve to 7-2 and capture a playoff spot.

Game of the Week (10)
11.12.2010 | by: Luksch

Players to Watch:

Team Zeitz
Hakeem Nicks
WR: Hakeem Nicks

Team Randall
Sam Bradford
QB: Sam Bradford

Game of the Week
10.21.2010 | by: Luksch
Oh….I was tempted to have the Shitbowl as the game of the week (Strus vs. Stowe). But I figured those two suck so bad…who cares at this point??? Now Pellegrino vs Gullo…much more interesting. Team Gullo doesn’t look to be so overpowering after losing 2 straight games and many key players on a bye this week, could mean trouble! On the other hand, Team Pellegrino is red hot winning 5 in a row. Superbowl Preview???

Anyways, the conscious Maclin had 30pts to help Team Pellegrino defeat Team “suck a dick” Stowe 129 to 107.  Maclin caught 7 passes for 159 yards and 2 TD’s. Oh it's put up or shut up time!!! NFC vs AFC!!! The NFC has dominated and I mean dominated the AFC and you would think after 6 years of embarrassment the AFC might put up some sort of fight. This week we look at (2-3) Team Randall vs (3-2) Team Johnson. Both teams are in the middle of the pack and this could be the deciding game of who gets early bragging rights in this first of three weeks of inter-league play!

Game of the Week
10.07.2010 | by: Luksch
Well, I could have done the obvious picks….Team Gullo vs Team Zeitz or Team Gigante vs Team Johnson…but instead I will give another garbage team their chance to be the “Game of the Week”. Team Strus is on year 3 and is on pace for another dreadful season (maybe it’s all the fuckin Bills’ players you drafted). Word of advice... if you want to be good at fantasy football….STOP PICKING Buffalo Bills players. At this point….I think Ralph Wilson is a better owner than you! Team Pickreign enjoy your Bye Week!

Game of the Week (4)
09.30.2010 | by: Luksch
Well, this was a tough week to pick a "game of the week"….so I gave Stowe his one and probably only chance to be it! Team Zeitz will go on to be 3-1 and could very well be in 1st place by week’s end! Team Stowe will be one step closer from redrafting Andre “I can’t stay healthy for a full season and Stowe is still willing to spend 44.5 million on me to help his team suck ass” Johnson first overall in the 2011 draft!!

SUPERBOWL VI
12.22.2009 | by: Luksch

Superbowl VI will feature two high powering teams. Team Gigante was nearly upset in the AFC title game, but escaped with the win. Team Gullo is on fire upsetting both Team Luksch and Team Hannigan to get here. Both Teams are deep and talented and can mix and match their line-ups. But, ultimately it will come down to their primetime players!!! Will Team Gigante be the first franchise to win the Superbowl twice or will Team Gullo be the 6th different franchise to win the title!!

AFC Championship
12.16.2009 | by: Luksch

Team Gigante has dominated the AFC this year; however their only loss in the conference came to Team Johnson back in week 1. Team Gigante is making their 2nd straight appearance in the AFC title game and their 3rd in 4 years, while Team Johnson is making their 3rd appearance in the AFC championship game in 6 years. Team Gigante also ended Team Johnson’s season last year in the wildcard game. Both teams know each other very well and this will be a much closer game then people think. Will Team Johnson be the first team to make the Superbowl with a losing record or will Team Gigante continue their dominance in the AFC?

NFC Championship
12.16.2009 | by: Luksch

Team Luksch has dominated the NFC this year, which includes a season sweep of Team Gullo. However, Team Gullo has the potential to put up some serious points at any given week. The edge has to go to Team Luksch based on playoff experience alone. Team Luksch is making their 4th consecutive NFC Championship appearance and trying to win their 3rd NFC crown. Team Gullo is coming off their first playoff win in franchise history! The deciding factor will be who plays and who doesn’t! Rumors are circulating that Peyton Manning might not play. This is bad in 2 ways. (1) Team Gullo would be losing their Team MVP and (2) they have no backup QB on the roster…ooops!!! For Team Luksch, Drew Brees will play; however Reggie Wayne might sit and that means the team would have to turn to Nate Burleson as their starting WR! Overall, this should be a great match-up…will Team Luksch continue their dominance and make it to their 3rd Superbowl or will Team Gullo continue their magical run?

Have to give the edge to Team Teichman. They swept the season series and the second game wasn’t even close, However, Team Teichman has been up and down all year! Team Johnson are no strangers to the playoffs and they got off to a hot start this year, however they haven’t played so well down the stretch!

Game of the Week:
Team Hannigan vs Team Stowe

11.25.2009 | by: Luksch

Two of three teams fighting it out for the last two playoff spots in the NFC. A win puts Team Hannigan in the playoffs, a loss makes next week a must win against the powerhouse Team Luksch and will need help to make the playoffs!!! A win by Team Stowe would almost certainly put them in the playoffs; at the very least give them control of their own playoff faint as it pertains to next week’s game! A loss would mean, a must win next week and help to make the playoffs!! A BIG, HUGE, ENORMOUS, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC, GARGANTUAN, COLOSSAL game to say the least!!

But, TO gets the award this week….yeah baby!!! TO caught 9 passes for 197 yards and 1 TD. The 29 points helped Team Johnson defeat Team Pellegrino 125 to 69.

ProBowl 2009
11.24.2009 | by: Gullo
We are doing it again!

For our 2nd year, we will be holding the AFC/NFC ProBowl during Week 16. We will get together once again (location TBD), and see which conference can select the best roster!

To help us get started in the process, I have updated the ProBowl Management section of the site. You can find this area on the Manage Roster page. Give it a look and start to plan out your moves. Remember that each owner must have at least one player in the lineup!

Last year the AFC beat out the NFC in the first annual ProBowl. With that loss, the NFC provided free beer and pizza during the draft. Will it happen again?

Fantasy Fun Fact: Week 11
11.24.2009 | by: Mark

Looking at the scores this week and realized that a lot of points were put up, especially in the NFC.  So I looked up the most points put up by a conference in a single week and sure enough this week was #2 with that criteria.  Below is the top 5 (notice all by NFC).  After that is most points put up by all 12 teams in a single week.

CONFERENCE POINTS
League Year Week Points Average High Man High Pts Low Man Low Pts
NFC 2005 12 795 133 Luksch 171 Hannigan 104
NFC 2009 11 790 132 Stowe 154 Randall 121
NFC 2007 12 774 129 Zeitz 163 Stowe 104
NFC 2006 12 751 125 Randall 180 Stowe 104
NFC 2005 11 749 125 Stowe 156 Hannigan 110
TOTAL POINTS
League Year Week Points Average High Man High Pts Low Man Low Pts
ALL 2005 11 1493 124 Pickreign 152 Pellegrino 90
ALL Two of three teams fighting it out for the last two playoff spots in the AFC. Team Pellegrino won the first meeting back in week 5. A second win would give Team Pellegrino a two game lead and the head to head tie breaker over Team Johnson. However, a Team Johnson win would make things very interesting. First, the head to head would be a wash and Johnson would own the division record tiebreaker, which will come in big in a 3-way tie scenario. Either way….huge game in the AFC!

Players to watch:

Team Pellegrino
Dallas Clark
QB: Tony Romo

Team Johnson

Player of the Week (10)
11.17.2009 | by: Luksch

Ooops….he did it again!!! Chris Johnson put up 39 points to help Team Luksch beat Team Randall 150 to 95. Johnson ran for 132 yards and 2 TD’s while adding 9 catches for 100 yards. The win help Team Luksch clinch a playoff spot for the sixth straight year!!!

The Drew Brees Press Conference
11.12.2009 | by: Luksch

Steve Luksch: It is a honor to welcome the 2008 Buffalo Fantasy MVP Drew Brees to the TEAM LUKSCH organization!

Drew walks up to the podium with a chant of DREW BREES, DREW BREES, DREW BREES in the background.

Drew Brees: I first would like to thank the Greatest Owner in Buffalofantasy history Mr. Luksch for trading for me! It is a honor to play for such a prestigious organization with 2 NFC championships and 2 division titles. I'm very excited for the opportunity to play with great players like Adrian Peterson, Ronnie Brown, Chris Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Vernon Davis and Antonio Gates. I know i was brought here for 1 reason and one reason only...Bring a Superbowl to this great team....(then Drew Brees steps to the side of the podium and while posing like Usian Bolt) I guarantee i will bring one here!!!

The room goes crazy.....jack and coke is flying around the room, sour patch kids falling from the ceiling...what a scene!!! A great moment in buffalo fantasy football history!!

Team Pellegrino has TRADED QB Drew Brees to Team Luksch for QB Tomo Romo, QB Matt Hasselbeck, RB James Davis and TE Ben Watson!!! YES....Nick has just sold his soul to the DEVIL!!!

Game of the Week:
Team Gullo vs Team Stowe

11.10.2009 | by: Luksch

Two teams as of now fighting it out for the final playoff spot in the NFC. Team Gullo won the previous meeting back in week 5 with a 122 to 102 victory. Another win by Team Gullo would most certainly give them an advantage over Team Stowe in regards to tiebreakers. Therefore, this is a must win for Team Stowe. A loss could eliminate any possibility of catching Team Gullo in the playoff hunt. A loss for Team Gullo would make 2nd –5th place in the NFC up for grabs !!

Player of the Week (9)

Kurt Warner
QB: Kurt Warner

Well...Kurt Warner sure bounced back after a horrible week 8. Warner threw for 231 yards and 5 TD’s this week. Unfortuately the 40 points could not help Team Teichman get the victory over Team Gigante.

TRADE DEADLINE

Game of the Week:
Team Gigante vs Team Teichman

11.06.2009 | by: Luksch

Two of the top Teams in the AFC will go head to head this week in buffalo fantasy. Team Gigante will try to widen his lead in the division with a 2nd win over Team Teichman this week. A lost by Team Teichman will most certainly eliminate their chances at a division title! A win would make it anyone's division coming down the stretch!

Players to watch:

Team Gigante
