Round 1
- Strusienski - Drafted: RB Brian Westbrook (Grade B-)
Should have taken: QB Peyton Manning
I curved Strusienski's grade because he is new to the league. With that said, he should have thought long-term with this pick. Westbrook might have one (maybe 2) good years left and that's it. Someone like Brady, Manning or even Moss would have made more sense. All three players you can build a team around for a good 4 or 5 years. With the way Ray Rice is playing, I would even consider him as well. But, I will give the edge to Manning over Brady because of the knee injury and Brady's inconsistent play at this point.
- Pickreign - Drafted: RB DeAngelo Williams (Grade C)
Should have TRADED or taken WR Ray Rice
WOW….talk about draft picks flying around. Even if Manning was off the board, Pickreign could have gotten great value from someone who wanted Brady. Instead he got nothing for the pick and settled for a RB who so far is a bust. I understand not drafting a QB (he has Schaub); however, dropping down to pick 5 and getting a few extra picks could have helped Pickreign build a powerhouse.
- Hannigan - Drafted: QB Tom Brady (Grade A)
Should have taken: QB Tom Brady
How Tom Brady falls in Hannigan's lap every time he becomes available is mind boggling. Yes, Brady got off to a slow start and a little inconsistent (that is why the grade isn't an A+), but come on!!!! Hannnigan has the potential to have Brady for the next 4-5 years and who wouldn't want that! (You see why I was willing to give up basically my entire draft for Manning of Brady!)
- Teichman - Drafted: WR Randy Moss (Grade A-)
Should have taken: WR Randy Moss
Randy Moss was a decent pick, however how in the world to you pass on Peyton Manning when David Garrard is your starting QB. You draft Manning and still get an elite WR in Roddy White in the 2nd rd. Anyway in this hypothetical, the big 3 of Manning, Brady and Rice are all gone! Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne and Steve Smith (NYG) would have been the next best picks. In the end, Teichman walked away with an elite player in Randy Moss and you can't ask for much more then that in the 1st round.
- Gullo - Drafted: QB Peyton Manning (Grade A+)
Should have taken: QB Joe Flacco
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Having Peyton Manning last until pick 5, is liking Gullo coming home from work and seeing Megan Fox sitting on his couch naked. What a surprise and you lucky bastard!! Again in this case, Manning is gone and Gullo with no glowing needs, takes Flacco for his up-side and long-term appeal.
- Stowe - Drafted: WR Steve Smith (Car) (Grade B-)
Should have taken: WR Steve Smith (NYG)
Stowe got the name and even the position correct, but the player wrong. Steve Smith of the NYG is making everyone forget about Plaxico Burress. Smith is arguably the best WR so far this year. Steve Smith (CAR) is struggling with injuries and his QB sucks which in the end does not look good for his production.
- Johnson - Drafted: RB Pierre Thomas (Grade B)
Should have taken: WR Reggie Wayne
Pierre could turn out to be a heck of a RB and have good value. But with Reggie Bush and Mike Bell stealing carries from him, Reggie Wayne would have been the better pick here.
- Zeitz - Drafted: RB Ryan Grant (Grade B)
Should have taken: RB Cedric Benson
Well, maybe Vito isn't as crazy as we all thought! Benson is one of the most productive RB's this year. Who would've thought? Ryan Grant has struggled so far this year, but without a decent backup in Green Bay, Grant is the safe pick, who will continue to get carries which equals fantasy points.
- Randall - Drafted: RB Marion Barber (Grade B-)
Should have taken: RB Knowshon Moreno
Barber is a safe pick and considering Randall got arguably the best available RB in this year draft in RD 3 (Ray Rice), this ends up being an ok pick. But Moreno is going to be a stud and if you are going to pass on him you better get someone good. Clinton Portis and Ryan Grant should have gotten some thought here as well!!
- Gigante - Drafted: QB Phillip Rivers (Grade A-)
Should have taken: QB Phillip Rivers
This was a tough call. Does he take a QB in RD 1 then a WR in RD 2 or does he do the opposite; WR then a QB. Obviously, Gigante thought that there would be some quality WR's left in RD 2 because Rivers was his guy. I may have leaned towards Wayne, White or Colston, and then went after Flacco, Ryan, or Romo. In the end, as long as Bowe keeps producing this pick should workout.
- Luksch - Drafted: WR Reggie Wayne (Grade A)
Should have taken: WR Roddy White
Considering Wayne went 4th overall in this REDO draft; it looks like Luksch made out ok in RD 1. Wayne is arguably the Best WR this year and the only other available WR that even comes close in fantasy points is Steve Smith (NYG). Colston was given some thought here as well.
- Pellegrino - Drafted: RB Clinton Portis (Grade B)
Should have taken: RB Clinton Portis
Not many options left. Many of the RB's available share carries or are flat out not producing. Ryan Grant, DeAngelo Williams and Marques Colston should have been considered here as well.
Round 2
- Strusienski - RB B.Westbook
Here is where I would have taken him
- Pickreign - RB D. Williams
Better Value if selected here
- Hannigan -WR M. Colston
1st rd talent for 2nd rd price
- Teichman - QB M. Ryan
Tough call....but better then Romo and McNabb
- Gullo - RB R. Grant
Worth a shot here
- Stowe - QB D. McNabb
Should have jump on Ryan, lucked out on Flacco
- Johnson - RB P. Thomas
If he could only get more carries
- Zeitz - WR V. Jackson
So undervalued
- Randall - RB M. Barber
Ended up getting him and at a cheaper price
- Gigante - WR D. Bowe
When healthy should be fine
- Luksch - QB T. Romo
No QB's left to take
- Pellegrino - WR M. Sims-Walker
Would have been laughed at!
